German shepherds grow really fast, and can be hard to control. Many people make the mistake of not starting soon enough, if this is your experience so far, get started, discover the right way to how to train German shepherd dogs the fun way.

German Shepard Training

It’s very sad to see a fabulous creature like a German shepherd chained up, become a danger to society through lack of dog obedience puppy training.  They are such loveable dogs when they are puppies, very easy to fall into the trap of spoiling them, you are not alone many dog owners fall into this trap.

Many professional dog trainers advice, would be to start training your dog on the very first day, this has proved to very effective in almost every situation.

It’s very important not just for you and your family, but also for the neighbours. Nobody likes a dog that is out of control and to feel threatened.

Believe me a fully grown German shepherd can be an intimidating site, especially when he or she has not been taken through the process of dog behavior training  however, never show fear they are very sensitive and will sense weakness immediately.

German shepherd puppies are not hard to train, they are very intelligent. A fully grown German Shepard are used a great deal as guard dogs by the police, during drug raids, they have an amazing sense of smell when fully trained.

It’s a joy to see a properly trained German shepherd guard dogs, they are so sharp with there movements, their eyes stay focused at all times so don’t be inhibited by them.

German Shepard's are pack animals,  there is always one that is the leader of the pack, you must be that leader.

German shepherds even as puppies will nip and often growl at you, when this happens you must take a firm grip on the back of the neck, a give him a shake,  leave him with no attention for a while. This is highly recommed by top professional trainers.

This is the reason to start the German Shepard training as a puppy, you may find it difficult to perform this action with a fully grown German Shepard and they can turn on you.

They will soon get the message. Start out with simple commands like sit, come, be sure to give them plenty of praise when the dog is obedient.

The key to training a German shepherd puppy is  to be consistent. Just because you are in a good mood one day, and all went well, don’t let them get away with things you have scolded them the day before, that will just confuse the dog.

When a dog becomes confused they are like us get frustrated, mood swings, growling are common signs. Its important not to blame the dog, put the blame on yourself for lack of consistency, in your dog obedience puppy training.

At the start it may seem an endless task, but believe me German shepherds never forget, once you have trained them you will have a friend for life.
