For some people there is no
need to learn how to stop a dog from jumping if it is only a small dog however if

A jumping dog can be a major

you first have your dog as a puppy it is quite a common practice not to stop dog jumping up on
you. At the puppy stage you have often have to bend over in order to pay attention to your new
found friend. By showing affection to him he automatically thinks it's okay to jump up. He
really wouldn't know the difference between jumping up in the puppy stages to when he is
fully grown. This is the point you have to gain control over your dog and make him understand
that jumping is not acceptable.
So how do you stop dogs jumping up on your guests?
If
you own a big dog the essential commands of off and no jump will be very effective. The main
reasons dogs’ jump they are excited especially with a new face they instinctively know they are
going to get a lot of attention.
A word of caution dogs do not
always jump up for attention. In some cases it may be to create dominance over another dog. This
can also happen with humans. We must remember dogs are pack animals and it is natural for them
to create a presence. It is important to be able to recognize the difference between the
two.
